On June 29, 2019 my life changed forever.  If you know me you know I’ve been bouncing around the world as a professional gypsy after discovering the global coliving movement.  Two and half years since I am here to tell you, the way we live is continuing to change.  This is just one company I am keeping my eye on as we witness the shift in how we live today.

MODA

This British operator is growing at high speed with the most investment we’ve ever seen in this sector. And while not defined as a true coliving brand, this built-to-rent product is truly raising the bar to new levels we’ve never seen before.  With £1.7 billion investment in the pipeline the United Kingdom will be the first to benefit from a high end design of all inclusiveness for its residence.  I’m here to say the world must take notice that living as a service has set a new standard.  They offer state-of-the-art amenities including shared lounges, residents’ gym, cinema and games room, outside gardens and roof terraces providing panoramic views of the city centre.  That sounds pretty basic until you witness the level of quality.  This is no basic condo we’re used to in North America.  This is the future.  And with no deposits, no fees and pet friendly, they coin this is the MODA way.  And while we pride the coliving movement on it’s affordable housing solution, MODA is more a luxury product.  With a hot portfolio ranging across the UK from Leeds to Liverpool and Edinburgh their units range from £850 for a studio to £2800 for a three bedroom.  With a minimum of a 6 month stay they seem to be leaning towards the long-stay tenant helping create consistency across their community. They offer fitness classes and meal plans.  With a rooftop soccer field and community app to pay rent, rsvp to events and communicate with neighbours, MODA is leading the way in the future of living.
